A Message from Pastor Jeff

Pastor Jeff

Hey Church Family!

I hope this little update finds you blessed and preparing to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord!

We have a lot of things going on this week! There is a Good Friday Service at the church on FRIDAY (in spite of what our Face Book page may say) at 7 pm. The service is usually about 30-45 minutes.

Then Easter Sunday we have a breakfast at 8:30 am. This is always a great time so if you can make it, please come! Coffee, juice and milk will be provided. Please bring if your last name ends with:

A-H Breakfast casserole and fruit.

I-Q Breakfast casserole and muffins.

R-Z Scrambled eggs and rolls.

If you have a specialty you can brings that too! If you have any questions call Joy at the church. Invite family, neighbors and friends!

Also we are in our second week of the new Home Group Study called “Essential Questions.” We have had a great turn out! If you want to join a group you still can. We have a group meeting Saturdays at the church lead by me (Jeff), a group at the May’s led by Gary May, a group meeting Tuesday at Sandi Field’s lead by Sandi, and a group meeting Wednesday at the Tomasini’s lead by Von and Ashley. So hop in where you schedule allows you to participate!

Now with that all said…the Saturday group will not be meeting this Saturday before Easter because most of the group was going to be out of town!

Another piece of news is that at the last business meeting a vote was taken as to the age which a person can join the church. It was voted that a person who is 13, has been baptized as a believer (this could have happened before turning 13 and does not have to have been at Central) and has gone through the new member class can join the church with the provision that the minor will have a member sponsor who will mentor the minor on voting issues until they are 18. A parent can be the membered sponsor, and if the minor does not have a parent to fulfill this role, an adult member can fill this role. If you have any questions about this and what it means feel free to talk to Jeff.

After this vote Nala was voted in as a member! This meant a lot to her, so thank you church family for embracing our youth who want to participate as members of Central.

Also at the business meeting Steve Taylor stepped down as the Chair of the Finance Committee and Matt Tornow took his place. I want to thank Steve for his years of service in the place of Finance Chair. He has done a superb job in a very important ministry. He has guided the church in financial decisions and kept a pulse on giving, planning for the future, and other financial matters. As a pastor it is a blessing to have a guy who has no other agenda but to see the church glorify God in the role of Financial Chair. So many thanks to Steve! Matt will continue that ministry focus, so we are in good hands!

Our next business meeting will be June 5th instead of in July because we tend to have a lot of people gone in July.

I hope you have a blessed Easter! God Bless!

In Christ,

Pastor Jeff
